Comparison Studies on Anti-Aliasing/Anti-Imaging Filtering and Signal Extension in Multi-Rate ILC

چکیده
Multirate iterative learning control (ILC) systems have different sampling rates for feedback online loop and feedforward (or ILC) offline loop. The implementation of multirate ILC requires to downsample the signal first and, after processing, upsample the signal again. In the process of downsampling and upsampling, aliasing and imaging may occur and need to be handled properly. In this paper, the multirate ILC with and without anti-aliasing/antiimaging filters are compared with different types of low-pass filter. Furthermore, to satisfy the steady state frequency response, the signals are extended and different extension methods are evaluated. A series of simulation results is provided to demonstrate that anti-aliasing and antiimaging filters significantly improve the tracking performance. However, the extension methods have little influence on the tracking accuracy.

Case studies of filtering techniques in multirate iterative learning control
Iterative learning control (ILC) is a simple and efficient solution to improve tracking accuracy for systems that execute repetitively the same tracing operation. For engineering applications of ILC, the main concern is the monotonic decay of tracking errors, in the sense of infinity norm or peak error, along the trials. Low cost in implementation and robustness in performance are also critical...
متن کاملQuantitative Comparison of Shift Variance and Cyclostationarity in Multirate Filter Banks
We analyze the behaviour of deterministic and widesense (WS) stationary random signals in multirate filter bank branches. We focus on subband energy spectra and energies for deterministic signals, and on subband power spectra and powers for random signals. We show that energy spectra and power spectra behave fundamentally different in a filter bank branch: aliasing in decimation causes energy s...

This contribution deals with the design of a fully digital multi-rate receiver, operating on non-synchronized bandpass samples. Issues related to aliasing, sample rate conversion and timing correction are considered. We compare various receiver alternatives in terms of the BER degradation caused by aliasing and non-ideal timing correction. In particular, we focus on a low-complexity receiver pe...

Multi-resolution image analysis utilizes subsampled image representations for applications such as image coding, hierarchical image segmentation and fast image smoothing. An anti-aliasing filter may be used to insure that the sampled signals adequately represent the frequency components/features of the higher resolution signal. Sampling theories associated with linear anti-aliasing filtering ar...
متن کاملLow complexity multi-rate IF sampling receivers using CIC filters and polynomial interpolation
This contribution deals with a fully digital multirate radio receiver with IF sampling. Timing correction and sample rate conversion are performed by a polynomial interpolator. By performing interpolation prior to matched filtering a significant reduction in complexity may be achieved. Low degradations are attainable when the receiver design parameters are carefully chosen. If this is not possi...
